Ann Panopio

Studio Director/Project Architect

Ann comes to UrbanWorks with over eighteen years of professional experience in the design, development and management of architectural projects. She serves as the firm’s Studio Director and as a Project Architect, working with in-house teams in all phases of design.  Ann’s portfolio includes such projects as multifamily housing, mixed-use commercial and residential spaces, disaster relief, and health care, with a focus on underserved communities. Prior to joining UrbanWorks, Ann worked for various not-for-profit community design centers, most recently as the Associate Director of an organization focused on improving impoverished communities through thoughtful design.

Ann earned both a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston and  a Master’s Degree from the University of Oregon.

Ann also takes her leadership skills outside the office by volunteering for such organizations as the Sustainable Urban Design Academy, where she developed curriculum and facilitated classes, and Rebuilding Together Oakland, where Ann served as a House Captain.
