McCormick Place Master Plan

Working with the URS Corporation, UrbanWorks was a member of a multidisciplinary team to develop the McCormick Place Competitive 2020 Strategy. The long-range, large-scale master plan posits six recommendations for facilities, environment, hotels, a convention center district, connections, and expansion options to secure McCormick Place’s position as the premier convention and trade show venue in the United States.

The work builds on UrbanWorks’ previous experience with the McCormick Place facility and its owner, the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA). These include owner representative services for the 750,000-square-foot West Building, completed in 2008, and the development of a request for proposals to define the McCormick Place Hotel expansion, presently underway.
