Senior Housing Concept

This five-story, 90-unit senior housing development in a Chicago suburb, maximizes the relationship of its 1.25-acre site to an adjacent park to provide residents with an integrated environment that promotes holistic wellness. The overall complex provides a pedestrian-oriented experience with outdoor areas for eating and socializing. The building’s amenities include a multipurpose room, fitness center, media room, art gallery, and library. Common spaces and residential units have been designed for maximum daylighting, helping to regulate resident’s natural circadian rhythms, a specific aspect of holistic health. The exterior expression is marked by an alternating pattern of vertical panels and projecting balconies that provide visual interest while enhancing views of the surrounding landscape.
