UIC Various Projects

UrbanWorks has provided architectural services for the University of Illinois at Chicago for over 10 years. The projects have spanned the spectrum from feasibility studies to large-scale facility projects.

With an improved student experience in mind, UrbanWorks developed a feasibility study that included the spatial reconfiguration of a 30-year old dormitory facility inserting student lounges, unisex restrooms and a more modern student focused image. UrbanWorks developed a 3-dimensional design concept for Lecture Center ‘A’ which included finishes and sound and lighting upgrades. Our paver design at the entrance of the School of Nursing provides a new focal point and source of pride for the alumni and current students of the school.

UrbanWorks was instrumental in the programming and design of the new Curtis Granderson Baseball Stadium on the east campus. Funded in part by the professional baseball player and alumnus of the school, the $10 million dollar facility not only provides a state-of-the-art collegiate stadium but also an inspirational venue for the inner city youth baseball leagues who will utilize the field throughout the summer months.
