Conceived as part of the World Gateway Program for passenger facilities at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, the new $1 billion Terminal 6 was to provide 17 gates serving domestic and international flights. UrbanWorks’ preliminary planning was done as part of a design build team comprising more than 40 architectural and engineering firms. Designs included four levels that coordinated passenger’s movement with a complex program of roadways, parking, automated transit, snow removal equipment, and aircraft.
