A zinc-clad garden pavilion that engages the landscape highlights this renovation of a century-old masonry structure housing various student organization administrative offices, conference rooms, and meeting spaces. The addition features a multipurpose gathering space for 60 to 80 students with state of the art media capabilities.
Extensive use of glazed doors and windows, sunshades and louvers control daylighting and promote the flexible use of the space. Zinc panels and a “Living Wall” system of vegetative plantings provide a unique aesthetic complementing the patio for outdoor socialization. A contemplative garden uses native plantings and trees. |
