A mixed-use, mixed-income framework plan for 65 acres of vacant land in the Chicago Housing Authority’s Cabrini Public Housing area was developed through a series of working group meetings, workshops, and think tank sessions. The proposal reintroduces long abandoned portions of the city’s grid to link adjacent neighborhoods to a revitalized urban district with sustainable densities to support retail and commercial uses. Open green spaces, diverse housing options, a day care center, and a health center create a lively new district within this rapidly redeveloping area of Chicago’s North Side.
Thanks to our client The Chicago Housing Authority and all those who participated in the collaborative sessions and provided insight.
