As part of UrbanWorks’ 30th anniversary celebrations, we are featuring 30 projects from over the years that highlight our breadth of experience and passion for the built environment. UrbanWorks’ LEED v4 Silver, two-story addition gives the Philip Rogers Elementary School in Chicago’s North Side a modern east façade. Overlooking a revitalized park that serves both students and locals, the annex features classrooms for music, drama, and science, as well as a dining hall for the entire school. Its bold cantilevers at the southeast corner ensure security and contrast with the original building’s architecture. Large windows spotlight key areas like the music and dining rooms. Inside, neutral floor tiles are accentuated by colorful highlights, aiding in navigation throughout the building.
