UrbanWorks’ Jose Esquinca Participates in UChicago Panel

UrbanWorks’ Associate Design Director Jose Esquinca was a panelist at UChicago’s Neighborhood Innovation Summit sponsored by UChicago’s International House, Mansueto Institute for Urban Innovation, and Gambit Chicago. The Urban Innovation panel, which focused on the architect’s role in placemaking, was part of a two-day program for a group of 12-24 year olds from Englewood, which inspired them to create strategies for developing vacant land in their neighborhood. The panel was moderated by Joseph Olalusi of Gambit Chicago and included Darrell Garrison of PRI Landscape Architecture, and Janeen Harrell of iJ Design Studio. Other summit partners included Urban Equities, Teamwork Englewood, The Chicago Community Trust, and the Cook County Land Bank Authority.
