UrbanWorks is proudly leading the urban plan envisioning future possibilities for Chicago’s Grant Park. Designed and imagined alongside Confluence, Withers Strategic Consulting, AP Monarch, Brush Architects, Chicago Park District, Liska + Associates, and Ed Keegan, the framework plan addresses the current state of division in Grant Park. Chicago’s Front Yard Reimagined uses concepts of stitching and bridging to reconnect the parks separate elements.
These design solutions prioritize the park as a place for respite, recreation, and congregation, with a particular focus on fostering walking and biking, while still accommodating drivers. After robust community engagement the following visionary proposals employ a combination of stitching and bridging concepts across the park in response to its varying state of repair, the disposition of its historically significant elements as well as current and anticipated public priorities.
