Armitage Industrial Corridor Framework Plan
UrbanWorks led a community engagement process with the City of Chicago Department of Planning & Development to create a new Armitage Industrial Corridor Framework Plan. The plan builds on past industrial corridor plans and spans a 441-acre study area across Chicago’s 29th, 36th, and 37th wards.
Working hand in hand with the community, UrbanWorks led two group sessions and three community events that engaged more than 20 local businesses and more than 200 individuals. The resulting plan creates a formal land use framework that, once approved by the City Council, will strengthen the corridor as a vital job center, enhance its character and history, improve infrastructure and mobility, and facilitate communication between businesses and the surrounding Austin, Montclare, and Belmont Cragin community areas.
