Chicago Public Schools Projects

The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) provide education for more than 400,000 students across the city of Chicago. For more than a decade and a half, UrbanWorks has provided a variety of renovation and new construction services to the Chicago Public Schools. More than five-dozen projects have been delivered, most under the management of the Public Building Commission.

UrbanWorks has typically been either managing architect or design architect for these projects, although other roles have included the delivery of planned urban development (PUD) consulting; facility assessments; accessibility (ADA) evaluations; programming and concept design; design development; and 30 percent construction documents. Services for these vital civic institutions across the city’s varied neighborhoods have totaled $350 million in capital investments.
