18th and Peoria Framework Plan

The 18th and Peoria Framework Plan provides a four-phase framework to create affordable housing and compatible uses on a city-owned site on Chicago’s Lower West Side. The six-acre property forms the largest vacant site in the Pilsen Neighborhood offering a unique opportunity to enhance the community in the coming decades.

Created in collaboration with the City of Chicago Department of Housing and Department of Planning and Development, it sets the stage for a compatible and attractive neighborhood addition comprising 430 housing units, 337 parking spaces, 10,700 SF of commercial space and 150,000 SF of open space.

Through a seven-month public engagement process, UrbanWorks led five public meetings and workshops involving hundreds of community members who provided commentary to inform the design.
