Minimally Invasive Vascular Center

The Minimally Invasive Vascular Center (MIVC) is a two-story, 27,000-square-feet health care facility in Laurel, Maryland that supports surgeries requiring less than a day of recovery time. Clad in bright red panels, its front façade comprises a glass storefront system that provides patients, visitors, and staff with an open face while providing ample natural light within. The two-story entry space leads to reception and waiting areas designed around a juice bar for patients and their families.

The MIVC includes ultrasound and exam rooms, four procedure rooms, and ten recovery rooms. Light-filled circulation spaces provide contrast with the privacy-minded exam and procedure rooms. Second floor executive doctor’s offices enjoy access to a roof deck and green roof. This UrbanWorks design was completed in collaboration with Studio ARQ as Architect of Record.
